Karlovasi village Samos: The
settlement of Karlovassi is the second
largest town of Samos with a population
of about 5500 inhabitants.
It is situated on the north-west part
of the island. The town is divided
into the Old and the New Karlovassi.
Beautiful mansions and impressive
churches embellish the town
and testify about the glorious and
wealthy past of the island. |

tanneries still stand today, remenesent
of a time when commerce and trade flourished which brought
wealth to the inhabitants of
Karlovassi. This town is also where
the first newspaper of Samos was published. |
