Church of Agios Spyridon |

This church is situated in the capital of Samos, Vathy,
on the Square of Agios Spyridon.
It is a church of an
historic importance because it is the place where the
decision to unite Samos with the rest of Greece was taken.
The church celebrates the feast of Saint Spyridon on the
12th of December. |

Vourliotes, and it is surrounded by
a dense forest.
This monastery is famous for its superb
icons and frescoes and for its marvellous iconostasis.

The Monastery of Zoodohou Pigi (The Source of Life) is
located in a wooded area, on Mount Rampaidoni, to the
east of the village Vlamari. It was founded during the 19th century. |

The main church is a big three-aisled basilica with
a round dome.
Its
middle aisle is dedicated to the Holy Cross, the north
aisle to the Well of Life and the south aisle to Saint
John the Baptist.
In the church, visitors will have the chance to admire
an outstanding iconostasis, a fine pulpit and a superb
bishop’s throne.
The library of the monastery houses a collection of religious
relics such as books, manuscripts, vessels, etc… |
