The Municipality of Mytilene, the capital of Lesvos, will start to operate a programme of municipal transportations from the beginning of Febrauary. This aims to serve both the locals and tourists of Mytilene  and also to reduce traffic and environmental pollution in the town centre. There will be two bus lines. The first line will operate between the Customhouse to Chrisomaloussa neighbourhood and back to the Customhouse and will have 22 itineraries on weekdays and 13 itineraries on Saturday. The second line will connect the Town Hall and Synikismos district and will include 20 itineraries on weekdays and 13 itineraries on Saturdays. Itineraries will start from 7 in the morning till 8 in the evening and will be frequent, every 30 to 60 minutes. Tickets are reduced, while some sensitive social groups, such as people with special needs, will not pay ticket.
