After its large success last year, the AegeanDocs International Documentary Film Festival will take place again from September 20th to 28th, 2014. 101 movies from 37 countries will be screened simultaneously in 17 spaces in all islands of Eastern Aegean.
The 1st Aegean International Documentary Festival will start on December 8th and will last till December 11th. Screenings will take place in the Municipal Theatre of Mytilene in Lesvos, where discussions with Greek and foreign directors have also been planned.
A new museum will be inaugurated this Saturday night, 1st August, in Papados village, Lesvos island: after so many years that it is closed, the old Vrana Olive Press will be turned into an Industrial Museum.
The Municipality of Mytilene, the capital of Lesvos, will start to operate a programme of municipal transportations from the beginning of Febrauary. This aims to serve both the locals and tourists of Mytilene and also to reduce traffic and environmental pollution in the town centre.
A new folklore museum was inaugurated last week in Pamfila village, to the north of Mytilene. The museum was created by the Women Association of Pamfila and includes pieces of furniture, tools, old photographs and other exhibits.
