About transportation in Lesvos island, Greece

Travelling by bus is common in Lesvos. The central bus station is located in Agia Irene Square in Mytilene, the capital of the island. Buses run daily from Mytilene to Petra, Molyvos, Kalloni, Plomari, Agiassos, Sigri and almost all villages around the island. There is another central bus station in Molivos to serve the northern locations of the island. The local bus is the cheapest way travel in Lesvos.


It is very easy to find a taxi in Lesvos even during the late hours. There are taxi ranks in many central spots, like the port and the airport of Mytilene, in Molivos, Plomari, Petra and generally all the tourist spots around the island.

Car and motorbike rentals

Lesvos has a good road network, although the landscape is mountainous. Many car rentals are found along the port of Mytilene, in Molyvos, Plomari, Sangri, Skala Kallonis and other tourist spots.
