The Church of Christ

This church stands in the traditional village of Kondias, south-east of the capital of Lemnos. It is a large church surrounded by a spacious verdant garden. Its walls are whitewashed and it has two tall bell-towers. Inside, the church houses some fine Byzantine icons.

Church of Zoodochos Pigi

This church stands of the top of a hill, near the fishing port of Kotsinas which lies on the		 Today the monastery is deserted but on its feast day, the 7th of September, it is the place where a big festival takes place.

The Church of the Annunciation

This large church stands in Moudros, the old capital of the island of Lemnos.

It is the most significant site of the settlement and attracts thousands of pilgrims on its feast day, which is celebrated on the25th of March.		 It houses a remarkable wood carved temple and its walls are decorated with amazingly fine frescoes.

The Monastery of Agios Sozon

This monastery stands in the small village of Skandali, on the south-eastern tip of Lemnos.
The church of Agios Athanasioa

The Church of Saint George (Agios Georgios)

This church stands in the village of Repanidi, north-east of Myrina. It was built in the middle of the 19th century, has three aisles, a wooden roof and neoclassical influences. It is the most characteristic style of religious architecture of the post-Byzantine times on Lemnos.


This chapel is standing near the small village of Zemata, in the area of Thanos, 4 kilometres south-east of Myrina. It is located on a spectacular site, in a cave on the top of a hill.
