Ikaria Evdilos 01 Evdilos Village Ikaria: The settlement of Evdilos is built amphitheatrically around the second port of Ikaria.

It is located in the northern part of the island, 37.5 kilometres north-west of Agios Kirikos.

It has about 440 inhabitants and a very interesting architecture consisting in a blend of neoclassical buildings, old traditional stone houses and mansions, modern houses and narrow streets.

The whole village is embellished by many flowers placed with care by the inhabitants on the balconies and yards of their houses. Evdilos was built after 1830, when the fear of the pirates came to an end. During the second part of the Turkish occupation (1834-1912) it was the capital of the island. Accommodations, cafes and excellent fish taverns are available in Evdilos.
