Here are some of the most important
feasts and celebrations on the island of Ikaria.
On the 14th to the 17th of July, a three day feast
is organised at Evdilos to celebrate the anniversary
of the liberation of Ikaria from the Turks.
Local food and wine is served and dancing and singing
are continuous during the three days.
On the 17th of July, Agios Kirikos is also organising
a great feast for the liberation of the island from
the Turks Ottoman.

On the 6th of August, at the village of Xristos Rahon, is held the biggest feast of the island where all the inhabitants of Ikaria participate.
Free roast and stew lamb is served, accompanied by local wine and traditional music. The feast lasts until the following day.
The feast of the Virgin Mary is celebrated on the 15th of August, at the villages of Gialiskari and Xristos Rahon.
