Location: On the southeastern coast of the island
Description: Agios Kirikos is the administrative capital of the island. It has nice neoclassical houses and its inhabitants deal mostly with tourism and fishing.

Location:
50 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos, close to Armenistis village
Description: This long and well-organized beach attracts lots of visitors every summer. It has sand and very clean waters. You will find many taverns and beach bars by the seaside.

:: Evdilos village

Location:
37 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos
Description: This small fishing village is the second most important port of Ikaria. Its traditional houses and narrow streest give a picturesque vibe to the village.

:: Livadi beach

Location:
48 km from Agios Kirikos, close to Armenistis village
Description: Livadi is a sandy, long and organized beach on the north side of the island. It usually gets very crowded in summer and many tourist amenities are found there.

:: The Archaeological Museum of Kambos

Location:
In Kambos village, 40 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos
Description: This small museum includes findings from archaeological excavations in Nas, Arethousa, Christos Rachon, Frantato and other areas.

:: The Temple of Artemis

Location:
50 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos, close to Armenistis village
Description: The ruins of the Temple of Artemis built in the 6th century BC can be seen on the archaeological site of Nas. Artemis was worshipped there from the Classical till the Roman times.

Location:
60 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos
Description: Nas beach is surrounded by lush forests with streams and waterfalls. The scenery gets particularly beautiful during the sunset.

:: The church of Panagia Theoskepasti

Location:
About 40 km from Agios Kirikos, close to Pighi village
Description: This small church has an unusual architecture as it has a rock as roof. The skulls of some monks are housed inside the chapel.

:: The Gorge of Halari

Location:
50 km to the north east of Agios Kirikos, close to Armenistis village
Nearest village: This magnificent gorge is found close to Nas beach and it is a great area to stroll around, with natural lakes, plane trees, small waterfalls and stone bridges.

:: The small island of Fourni

Location:
Between Ikaria and Samos islands
Nearest village: This island is a quiet and somehow isolate from tourist destination. It has only a few tourist amenities because it has not yet been much developed. Fourni would be a nice two-day excursion from Ikaria.

:: The Castle of Koskina

Location:
37 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos, close to Evdilos village
Nearest village: This Byzantine fortress was built in the 11th century AD and it is standing on top of a mountain, offering great views to the above valley.

Location:
At the waterfront of Agios Kirikos
Nearest village: The momument of Icarus was made by the local artist Nikos Ikaris and it shows the wings of the unfortunate boy, made in metal.

:: Icarus Festival for Dialogue between Cultures


Description:
This Festival is held every summer, in July and August, with the cooperation of the three municipalities of Ikaria. It hosts performaces of Greek and foreign artistic groups whose music is a product of multicultural experience.

:: The ancient spa of Therma

Location:
3 km to the north east of Agios Kirikos, close to Therma village
Description: Therma has been a very popular place particularly for hydrotherapy ever since the 4th century BC. You can still find the ruins of the ancient baths that bear testimony of the existence of the therapeutic springs.

:: The Byzantine Odeon of Ancient Oenoe

Location:
40 km to the north west of Agios Kirikos, close to Kambos village
Description: The Byzantine Odeon was built in the 1st century AD and was used as a central meeting place and as a forum for musical and theatrical events. It was the Odeon of the ancient capital of Ikaria, Oenoe, which was a prosperous city famous for its viticulture.

:: Drokano fortress

Location:
10 km to the north east of Agios Kirikos, close to Faros village
Description: This fortress is one of the best preserved examples of Athenian military architecture. It was built around the 4th century BC and served as an observation point of the Aegean sailing traffic. It was damaged by Greek naval forces in 1827. A dirt road starting from the village of Faros leads to this fortress.
