Went to Fourni last summer from Ikaria and stayed 5 days. There is a boat that goes to Fourni every morning from Agios Kirikos, about 1hour trip. Our room was close to the port, so we had everything in a walking distance.

The second day we took the tour boat that goes round Fourni and stopped in Chrissomilia, a nice beach with pebbles but clean water. There is a tavern there with great recipes. Unfortunately, the rest of the days it was too windy and the boat didn't make any journeys. But one day we walked about 20 min to Psili Ammos and the rest days we just laid our tired bodies in the beach close to the village. This is a good island for naturism, hiking and lots of relax.

Not many people go to Fourni for holidays, which means too quietness and cheap prices. Try all the taverns at the port, they are excellent and the people seem so hospitable. I loved the late evening hours, about 10 to 12 at night, when people had finished dinner and they were walking up and down the port. You could hear cheerings and hellos, accompanied with hugs and handshakes. Really great place and I have nice memories from Fourni.

Really pleased to read this review as we are going to Ikaria and Fourni in early september and I've booked the early morning ferry from Agh Kirikos - Fourni on the sunday but I can't find a return ferry on the thursday and we are booked in at Armenistis thursday night so its nice to know there are daily boats. What time does it leave Fourni to go back to Ikaria please? Also very interested in the boat which tours the island. Does it do the entire coastline and how much please? Thanks for all your help.

We called the port authority of Fourni (0030 22750 51207) and there is a boat every day except Monday and Friday that departs from 7.30 in the morning from Fourni, arrives at 8.30 in Agios Kirikos Ikaria and 10.30 in Karlovassi Samos.

You will find few info for the tour boats in the Internet. Their schedule usually depends on the weather, if it is too windy they might go only to the close beaches or not depart at all. The cost would be no more than 1,5-2 euros a person. Better ask your hotel for more info, or just wait till you go there. Usually there is a schedule at the port with these itineraries.

Excellent news. Thankyou. We were hoping to find a boat from Fourni - Evdilos but its just reassuring to know we can make it onto Ikaria at all on the day we are booked into Armenistis to be honest. Thanks again.
