The Byzantine Museum of Chios opened again a few days ago. It is housed in the Metzitie Mosque, a preserved building of the 19th century that hosted an archaeological collection after the deliberation of the island from the Turks in the early 20th century.
The mosque has been closed for the last 4 years due to restoration works and recently it has opened as a Byzantine Museum with permanent collection. The museum will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, 8.30- 14.30.
