Chios Villages: Karyes village in Chios Karyes village Chios: The beautiful village of Karyes is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of a hill, a few kilometres north-west of Chios Town. Karyes has about 650 inhabitants. It is famous for the breathtaking view it offers and for its spring waters which are the best of the island.It has a rich vegetation, a fine climate and a great variety of aromatic herbs. Every summer, the cultural society organises various dances and festivities on the village’s square, which are attracting a lot of visitors. Accommodations, traditional cafes and fine taverns are available in Karyes.
