Kardamila village Chios: Kardamila is located at 28 kilometres north-west from Chios Town and is divided into two settlements. Pano Horio (Upper Village) is the older part of the village and spreads at the feet of a steep hill, in a region full of plane trees.
Fine examples of the traditional architecture of the island are standing here, surrounded by narrow alleys and passages with stone arcades.
The other part of Kardamila is the Kato Horio (Lower Village), also called Marmaro, where one will be able to admire the superb traditional mansions built of stone and decorated with flowers and plants. Each settlement has about 2000 inhabitants. |
