Agia Markella Beach Chios: This beach is a long sandy and pebbled beach extending in front of the Monastery of Saint Markella, the patron saint of the island.
It is located at a distance of about 47 kilometres north-west of Chios Town.
The waters are very clean, deep and very cold.
A path at the end of the coast leads to the place where Markella died as a martyr, where hot water comes out from the earth. |
