Ialysos in Rhodes, Dodecanese Greece: The village of Ialysos is actually the third largest settlement in the island of Rhodes, with approximately 7,000 inhabitants. It is placed 8 km to the north-west direction from the town of Rhodes and close to an ancient city with the same name, also known as "Trianta". This ancient city constitutes an important archaeological site.
During the last decades, this village has become a popular tourist destination, with a good variety of hotels, apartments, studios and camp sites placed along the coast. The place has also several traditional restaurants, as well as an active nightlife, with various bars and clubs. The village gets particularly busy in summer, when the European Windsurfing Championship is also held in the beach of Ialysos. |
