This one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes, my friends! It took its name because this is where Saint Paul landed on Rhodes to preach Christianity. The trip to Rhodes was very long (18 hours by ferry) but fortunately there were no delays. Last summer, we had travelled by ferry again and the departure was 2 hours late. We had been more tired of the delay than the trip. Fortunately, this time all went good.

I am in my 60's and therefore I prefer mostly te village life and no music bars and discos, rather a relaxed nightlife. We stayed in Afandou village on our vacations to Rhodes, about two years ago. The beaches was beautiful and pretty crowded in late August.

Faliraki beach was toooo large and pure sandy. We stayed in a hotel there and had views to the beach anytime. Afandou was a long and nice beach, with clear water and nice taverns close to it. Our hotel was there and we were frequent visitors. No problem with Afandou, everything was fine. I liked Pefki beach, we were going there to swim very often because our hotel was close. Not many special things, just a clean strech of sand and blue waters. However, I believe Rhodes has many more nice beaches, such as Faliraki or Tsambika, with more facilities and conveniences. Pefki is OK but... More >
