Patmos Beaches: Alikes Beach in Patmos Alikes Beach Patmos: Alikes is a wonderful sandy beach located 5 km southeast from Chora, the capital of Patmos. Alykes lies on the north end of Stavros bay, the area where the monks collected salt. In fact, the name of the beach was derived from alyki which means "salty" in Greek. It is a long sandy beach with shallow waters and few facilities. There is a tavern open in the summer.
