I stayed at Hotel Asteri in May several years ago. My wife and I were here for several days. She got sick and dehydrated and had to spend some time in the hospital on Patmos.
The family that owns the hotel went out of their way to take very good care of us, cooking for my wife, and even giving us an extra night free on the end of our trip. I was a guy in social services back then, now I'm a guy who works as a travel agent. I look at hotels every day, and I would highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel Asteri is a few minute walk from the main town, which is perfect. You avoid any traffic from cruise ships. It looks out onto a bay on the back side of the island. This hotel is exactly like the island. Quaint and beautiful. It is a B&B type place. Not a 4 star luxory resort, but very Greek and also comfortable.
