The Trip: I arrived on the island by plane with the Thompson fly. The trip was good with delays. Unfortunately landed in a very bad storm
Reasons for going to Kos: Visited Kos twice before, and I really enjoyed the Great beaches, lots of sunshine, very friendly local people and fantastic food.
Favorite things about the island of Kos:
- Best Beaches: Paradise, Kamara Bay - Kefalos
- Best villages: Pyli and the mountains are picturesque
- Best Activity: Cycling, wind surfing & walking
- Best Bar/Pub/Club: All good Friendly people
Negative opinion about the island of Kos
There seemed to be more litter around in the resort since my visit last year, although I appreciate this may be due to tourism. I feel the Island could benefit from a more frequent bus service from Kefalos into Kos town
Recommendations:
Kefalos is a charming, laid-back resort which has many tavernas, restaurants & bars to choose from - although the resort is not as lively as other parts of Kos. It has it's own village, which overlooks the bay. The best part of the beach in Kefalos is near the wind surfing (by the ruins), where the beach is sandy with shallow waters - great for swimming. The locals in Kefalos are lovely - very friendly & helpful. I noticed that there are lots of people who visit this part of the island many times. Kos town is best for shopping.
