More traditional than I imagined

I have visited many Greek islands before and have never been dissappointed. Kos seemed attractive due to its history and its beaches. In fact, it is far quieter and more traditional than I had imagined. There is an impression that it will be overrun by tourists, but truly there are many quiet places surviving still, especially in thr northern side (Marmari, Mastichari, Lambi). Antimachia was also very traditional and I liked its Castle. This is the village the closest to the airport. If you want good beaches, try the northern side. Drive along it and you will discover many lovely and clean coves. Do not trust the GPS for directions, ask the locals, you will save time and money of gas. The ancient site of Asklepieon was very dissappointing for such an important historical place, mainly due to the lack of infomation available. This is a common feature in many archaeological sites actually. The problem is that they don't have adequate information and that they close early. You should fix that.
