The island is regularly linked with normal ferries to Alexandroupoli, northern Greece (22 hours) and Piraeus (about 10 hours, depending on the ferry). Kos is also linked by normal ferry with other islands, such as Astypalea (4 hours), Lesvos (12 hours), Lemnos (16 hours), Mykonos (9 hours), Rhodes (3 hours), Syros (6,5 hours) and Samos (5 hours).

Hydrofoil
In high season, daily hydrofoils are linking Kos with Rhodes and other Aegean islands, including Agathonisi (2,5 hours), Kalymnos (35 minutes), Leros (1,5 hour), Lipsi (2 hours), Patmos (2,5 hours), Rhodes (2 hours) and Simi (1,5 hour). Itineraries are fewer in low season.

Excursion Boats
Boats leaving from the harbour of Kos Town are proposing excursions to the nearby islands of Kalymnos, Pserimos and Nisyros. Daily boats are also leaving for the opposite coast of Turkey.
