General information

Piles Village Karpathos: Located about 17 km north west of Pigadia, Piles (or Pyles) is among the smallest villages on the island of Karpathos. Just next to Othos, this village has traditional stone houses and narrow streets. The surrounding region is lush green, it has many olive trees and wild nature. Close to Piles, there are two secluded beaches with crystal water, Proni and Fokia.

At the entrance of Piles, there is a small agricultural museum that depicts the traditional way of life on the village. Among the exhibits in this lovely museum, you can see a typical Karpathian farm with cheese making and wine pressing area, a collection of farm tools, a herding area for farm animals, a functional windmill that you can visit inside, an olive grove, a real vineyard and a wheat field.
