Karpathos Villages: Othos village in Karpathos Othos Village Karpathos: This mountainous village is just a few kilometres west of Aperi, 12 kilometres north-west of Pigadia, lying on a high spot of an altitude of 500 metres and offering a magnificent view over the sea and the south-eastern part of Karpathos. It has a population of about 300 inhabitants.The beauty of Othos is increased by its many traditional houses painted in lilac and white and creating a scenery of unique beauty.

Othos is famous for its sweet red wine, its excellent taverns and its traditional feasts; 8 to 10 celebrations are organised by the village each year, the most significant being the fest of Agios Pandeleimon, which attracts all the inhabitants of the island and last for three days.
