The trip: I arrived on the island by plane (charter). The trip was very good with no delays.
Reasons for going to Karpathos: Discovered on the Internet and have read books about Greece (Durell, Cage)
Idea of the island/area before arriving: I knew it would be dry and windy but the strength of the wind in the first week of my stay there surprised me - also the local people said that meltemi is not usually so strong in July.
