Location: On the southeastern coast of the island
Description: Pigadia is the capital of the island. It is built around a natural port and has only a few inhabitants. Pigadia is surrounded by interesting sightseeing and has all tourist amenities.

Location:
15 km to the north of Pigadia
Description: This picturesque beach is the most famous coast of Karpathos. It has white sand and sparkling, clean water. Apela is surrounded by huge rocks and tall pine trees.

:: The Church of the Assumption in Menetes

Location:
8 km to the south west of Pigadia town
Description: This church was built in the 19th century and is the most famous church of Karpathos. Its location gives great views to the surrounding area.

:: Mesochori village

Location:
34 km to the north west of Pigadia town
Description: This beautiful village overlooks the sea and offers a magnificent sunset. It is known for its traditional houses and narrow alleys.

Location:
To the north east of Pigadia town
Description: This nice beach is unique for its emerald water and picturesque scenery. It gets quite crowded and well-organized in summer.

Description: This cave is a great natural site of the island and in the ancient times it was used as a sanctuary either to god Poseidon or to goddess Aphrodite.

Location:
In the waterfront of Pigadia town
Description: The Province House is found in Pigadia and one of its sections provides information on the mediterranean seal. An outdoor museum is found closeby.

Location:
To the north of Karpathos island
Description: This mountainous islet has monuments from the antiquity and the Byzantine times. It can be reached by tour boat from Pigadia.

:: The ancient site of Potideon

Location:
Close to Pigadia town
Description: The ruins of this ancient city can be seen in the harbour of Pigadia. Tombs with ceramics dating back to the Minoan and Mycenaean periods have been brought to light as well as relics from the Prehistoric Era, testifying the existence of an ancient settlement.

Location:
38km to the north west of Pigadia
Description: The picturesque windmills of Spoa lie on the slopes of a hill. One of them has been restored and is used today.

:: Sokastro islet

Location:
Close to Lefkos village
Description: Sokastro used to be united with the rest of the island but now it is a seperate islet. It has monuments of the Medieval and the Byzantine times.

:: Windsurfing in Karpathos

Description:
The most popular beach to practise windsurfing in Karpathos is Makrigialos. This coast is sandy and affected by winds. Windsurfing is practised there from May to September.
