Vananda Beach Camping is situated on the picturesque beach of Vananda, a couple of Km from the beautiful little village of Diafani. Diafani is on the northern side of the island and was for many years isolated from the rest of the world as transportations were rare. For that reason, the little harbor of Diafani and the surrounded villages (Mesohori, Olympos) have kept an authenticity that is difficult to find nowadays.
Diafani is also a perfect place for excursions. The village of Olympos is unique as it is a matriarchal organization and women are dressed like centuries ago. There are also organized excursions to the surrounding islands. The camping is a quiet place and is held by Minas Hangiantoniou. The camping offers few facilities, like breakfast, and it is not very organized. Also the long distance from a village may be a problem but the experience it offers is unique. This is the perfect place for backpackers.
