Pothia is the capital village and main port of Kalymnos. Most villages are located on the eastern side, which has a more even landscape and it is protected by strong winds. Tourist villages on Kalymnos include Massouri, Myrties and Kantouni.

Description: Myrties is a picturesque seaside village that gets pretty busy in summer. From there, excursion boats depart for the neighbouring island of Telendos.
Location: 24 km north west of Pothia
Description: Emporios is a nice and quiet village on the northern side of Kalymnos. Its few inhabitants deal with fishing and agriculture.
Location: 5 km north west of Pothia
Description: This is a calm tourist resort that streches around a sandy bay. Some hotels and fish taverns line the beach.
Location: 13 km north east of Pothia
Description: Its lovely houses are scattered all over a fertile valley till the cove of the natural gulf that looks like a fiord.
