Although Halki is a small island, it is frequently connected by ferry with the port of Piraeus and some neighbouring islands.
In fact, Halki is connected to Rhodes (1 h and 15 min), Kos (2 hrs), Tilos (30 min) and Nisyros (1 h and 30 min). There are some direct ferries from Piraeus to Halki but the trip takes long (from 15 to 24 hours) depending on the vessel and the route.
