The only settlement on Halki is Nimporio, the capital and port of the island. The other village of Halki, Chorio, used to be the capital till the middle 19th century when it was abandoned and its inhabitants moved gradually to Nimborio.

Location: On the eastern side of Halki
Description: Nimporio is the capital and port of Halki and in fact it is the only village on the island. Built on the slopes of a hill, it has traditional style and a lovely waterfront.
