Over a period of 10 days, Astypalea has turned out to be the best summer destination for me. An island that I never thought I would love so much for its natural beauty, traditional characteristics and hospitality.
When I reached Astypalea, I realized that I found a place to relax and escape the... More >
It is not the nightlife, the ancient sites or the watersports that you love in Astypalea. In fact, there are nothing of these. It is the wild scenery, the beautiful village, the old windmills, people taking their siesta at noon, the view from the cafeterias to the sea, the small squares, the... More >

After Kos, Astypalea was on our travel map last summer, this tiny island in the middle of the Aegean that stands like a rock against all winds and waves. I love those Greek islands where you feel so relaxed and refreshed, where you do nothing but swim, eat and sleep.
We chose Kos for the luxury... More >

Isn't it great to have your holidays in the most peaceful place ever? I love the Greek islands, they are so close to home and everyone has a unique beauty. But I am sad that some islands try to follow the example of Mykonos and want to get money from clubbing or other bad sides of tourism.

Our room in Astypalea was close to Chora, in the beach named Pera Yalos. There are many rooms to rent there, clean and not expensive compared to other islands. People on Astypalea are so warm and friendly! We figured out that most of the hotel owners do not live on the island but come for the... More >

The best thing with Astypalea is Chora: a very clean and beautiful village, one of the most traditional villages in Greece. Beautiful in the day with the sunlight and also great at night with the soft lights that extend from the castle to the port. Beaches on Astypalea are not so great. They are of... More >

Our three-day excursion to Astypalea was a true surprise to me. Astypalea was actually a last-minute decision for us. We had already planned our two-week holiday in Rhodes, when we saw the Astypalea section in your site, Greeka.com. So, we said, why not? It is close to Rhodes and it is a special... More >
Indeed, Astypalea looks like a butterfly on the map! From closer, it is the quietest Greek island I have been to. Some old people are living there permanently who are very friendly to the tourists and welcomed us from their heart. Mr Christos, who runs a store in Chora, bought us some delicious... More >
We have just returned from our Greek holidays. This summer we spent a week in Rhodes and a weekend in Astypalea. Rhodes was what I expected, a large and medieval-looking, gorgeous island. I had seen many photos and I knew what toexpect. But Astypalea really amazed me!! I was not quite prepared to... More >
