Astypalea Review:
We have just returned from our Greek holidays. This summer we spent a week in Rhodes and a weekend in Astypalea. Rhodes was what I expected, a large and medieval-looking, gorgeous island. I had seen many photos and I knew what toexpect. But Astypalea really amazed me!! I was not quite prepared to go there, as it was a last-minute choice. I saw a really beautiful, tiny island that lives in its own world. Not many cars, just boats and motorbikes, as the roads in the inland were pretty rough. I also saw many mules driven by old people who have probably spent their whole life on Astypalea.
All beaches were clean and not organized, which is good because they don't get spoiled by people. My favourite was Maltezana. I saw a couple of bars on the island but was not attracted to go, they would spoil the relaxing vibe I got when I stepped foot there. You will not find many things to see, but you will not get bored either. Stay for no more than 4-5 days, they are enough. When you leave, you will have peace in your heart, like I did.
