Recipe of Patatokeftedes
DescriptionAn easy and quick recipe, Patatokeftedes is actually mashed potato balls. You can find this dish in other places, apart from Syros.
Ingredients- 1 kilo of potatoes
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of regato cheese
- 4 pieces of bread cumbs
- 1 onion of pestled onion
- Salt, pepper and flour
- olive oil
PreparationBoil and then mush the potatoes using a fork. Stir in the cheese, eggs, salt and pepper, the pestled onion and bread rusk and then blend well. When the mixture is cold, use a spoon to create a small ball and roll them in flour.
Deep the potato balls with a spoon into hot olive oil and fry the balls for few minutes. Remove them when the surface is golden brown. Place then in paper towels to drain.
