 The municipality of Syros decided to built an open theatre close to the neighbourhood of Agios Panteleimon, Ermoupolis town, that will give a new impulse to the cultural life of the island and will provide a new space for festivals and other events.
The municipality has already bought from civilians a land of 32 sq.m. and there an Open Theatre and a Conference Centre will be constructed. The major of Ermoupolis has also proposed to give to this open theatre the name of Manos Eleftheriou, the renowned novelist born in Ermoupolis, whose talent and character honors his homeland.
