world. The only road on Sikinos connects Chora, the capital of the island, and Alopronia, the island’s harbour.
There are only two paved roads across the island. A third one is under construction. There is a local bus that links Chora and Alopronia. There are no vehicles available for rent.
Ferries leave from the port of Alopronia to Piraeus and also small boats make the tour of the island, going to many beaches, such as Agios Georgios, Agios Nikolaos and Gialiskari. The rest of the transport can be made on foot or on donkey. |

Sikinos is not yet developed to offer many facilities to tourists. The few residents and the infertile land do not motivate the authorities to invest on infrastructure and transport facilities. However, Sikinos has been attracting a number of tourists since the recent past. This is mainly because of its landscape beauty and pleasant atmosphere that is typical for a tranquil holiday spot.
