Sikinos in like a hidden treasure between Ios and Folegandros and it is recommended especially if you want to try a differend island for a while. Sikinos has not so many taverns and clubs but those that already exist are just fine.
Regarding beaches, you must ask first since you can not find them all simply by going all round the port. Santorineika is the best to my opinion with crystal transparent water and there is only a path that can lead you there from Agia Marina where you can see also ancient city ruins. Just stay there to hear the sound of silence of a lost world that does not affront tourists as cash machine.
The locals are friendly in general, the current mayor is really a young joyful man with green thought for the development of Sikinos but maybe you will face problems in Agios Giorgis with some of them.
There is even free Wi-fi network (although sometimes the connection is lost) provided by the community and a couple of festivals are held in summer.
