More about: Sikinos island

The participants in the 1st Archaeological Meeting "Multum in Parvo" that took place on Sikinos Cyclades stressed out the need to protect and preserve one of the most important monuments of Greece, the site of Episkopi, on the southern side of the island. Episkopi was a grave monument in the Roman Times (3rd century A.D.) and then it was converted to a Christian church.

This is the most famous monument of Sikinos and one of the rarest sites of its kind in Greece that have managed to survive time. However, without the necessary protection of the Greek state, this monument is abandoned and left to gradual destruction. At the end of the Archaeological Meeting, all participants, among which politicans, local authorities and archaeologists, signed a resolution asking for the immediate protection of Episkopi.
