I thought Sifnos was great. We went in September and had a blast, walking is superb. It was also nice to see traditional ways of life still intact on
Sifnos even though the tourism industry is well-developed. One thing that was pretty hard to stomach, however, were the conditions that some of the livestock were in, particularly in the small holdings at the foot of Kastro. We saw cattle which were badly emaciated and living amongst bones of other dead creatures. It looked more like footage from an African drought. I really admire some the traditional Greek farmers because it looks like a difficult existence but there's no excuse for treating animals like that.
