The local wines of Serifos are also rather particular, as they have an intense bouquet and go with most meals quite well.
The island of Serifos is also well known for its honey, bread, sweets and almonds. Also the loutza - sun-baked pork – with sun-dried tomatoes, revithada – which consists of baked chickpeas - and the traditional marathotiganites, or fried fennel, are sold along with local cheeses.
Most visitors don’t hesitate to buy cheese pies called 'kaltsounia', some 'amygdalota' -a kind of sweet or almond confection-, or some ingredients to cook with, such as local meat and vegetables, a variety of local cheeses or fresh fish from the Aegean Sea.
