Although it is surrounded by popular Greek islands, like Naxos and Ios, Schinoussa remains calm and isolate. Apart from the church of Panagia Akathi, the protector of the island, there is no other sightseeing in Schinoussa. Visitors spend most of their time swimming in fantastic water and hiking across the centre of the island. Almyros, Lioliou, Tsigouri and Fikio are among the most beautiful beaches on the island, while the main village is Chora. This is a perfect place for private, off-the-beaten track holidays, even in high season.
