Staying in Chora, the main town of Schinoussa, is very convenient. It is the center of life on the island and has many shops, bakeries, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Most hotels are located here. They are mostly small apartments or suites.
Chora is a very picturesque small settlement full of local life. There is a bus that will take you to the island’s beautiful beaches if you want to avoid walking. The closest beach is Mersini which is located near the port and Tsiggouri beach.

SCHINOUSSA, A POCKET-SIZED ISLAND WITH FEW OPTIONS
Schinoussa is a small island located east of Naxos. Along with Koufonisia, Iraklia, and Donoussa, they form the sub-complex of the small Cyclades. Although tiny in size, Schinoussa is visited by many tourists in the summer. Most of them come on a sailing boat or yacht and anchor at the port or in one of its numerous wind-protected bays. The island is completely arid with just basic infrastructure. Nonetheless, its reputation has traveled the world.
The hotels are mostly located in Chora which is the main town of the island. There are also some hotels at the port which is not far from Chora.
Lastly, you will find some accommodation options close to Tsigkouri and Livadi beach. A car is not necessary if you are staying in Chora.
You can move around by bus or if you do not mind walking, you can visit some beaches on foot. There is also a taxi on the island.
Schinoussa is a small island with moderate tourist development. The number of hotel units on the island remains limited due to the actual small size of the island. The majority of the hotels are small, family-run units, rooms-to-let as well as some beach houses. They are either new or recently renovated structures and consist of well-equipped rooms, a small kitchenette, and a terrasse offering a beautiful sea view.
