How to get to Emporio

There are many different ways to get to Emporio from any location on the island.
Airport to Emporio: 10 km / 6.2 miles | Port to Emporio: 8 km / 4.9 miles | Fira to Emporio: 9 Km / 5.5 miles

Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus, or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport, or your hotel. Car rental: There’s the option of renting a car and picking it up directly from the airport, port, or your hotel. Using a car allows visitors to discover Emporio and many other places of interest at their own pace.

Public transfers: In Emporio village lies the 15th stop of the bus route Fira > Perissa. Fira is where the central bus station of the island is located. There are bus connections between this bus station and most areas of the island. There are buses to Perissa approximately every hour. Note that time schedules might change according to the season. From Santorini airport to Emporio: A bus stop lies between the arrivals and departure buildings. The buses that depart from there take visitors to the central bus station in Fira village, which is 5 km away. A bus from Santorini airport to Fira departs approximately every hour. From Fira, visitors should board another bus to reach Emporio, following the route Fira > Perissa.
From Santorini port (Athinios) to Emporio: The bus station is located at the port of Santorini. Visitors who have arrived by ferry can take a bus to Fira Central bus station, which is 8.5 km away. From Fira, visitors should board another bus to reach Emporio, following the route Fira > Perissa.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop at every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination in advance.
