The vines of Santorini are famous all over Greece. They have the particularity to be cultivated in low basket shaped crowns, close to the ground for protection from the strong winds. This knowledge is only used and known on Santorini for centuries.

Santorini is a wine Name of Origin and its wines are distinct and unique. Most of the wine production of Santorini is made arround the traditional village of Megalochori.
Due to the small size of the island and the weather conditions, only limited quantities are produced every year. The main grape used for the red wine is called the "Asyrtico"
