This large complex is well signposted and lies on the outskirts of Pyrgos on Santorini. It receives a lot of visitors and you can also enjoy a fantastic view from the large balcony here of Santorini volcano and Fira.
There is a sizeable reception where you can sample or buy wine that is also the starting point for tours. A tour costs a couple of Euros and you can pay a little extra for wine tasting. There is also a slide show available.
On the tour you are taken into the winemaking facilities which are in use.
The grape harvest takes place in August or September so depending on what time of year you visit the process will be in a different process. The facilities are surprisingly large and are built on a number of levels.
They were opened in 1992 and are in a good condition. There are huge vats for the wine as it goes through the process of fermentation.
Farmers from across the island use this facility which produces one million bottles of wine a year.
