Santorini is nice but was a heaven 15 years ago

The trip: We arrived to Santorini Island by plane. The trip was really confortable.
Reasons for going to Santorini: It is very simple. We came here before 15 & 14 years and really enjoyed the trip. We wanted to see again this exceptional part of Greece, the view, the caldera and Oia.
Idea before arriving: The first time we came here we were waiting for white houses, black beaches, good foods and nice walks.
Expectations and opinions: Yes, it met our expectations this year also. Today it is a nice place for holidays. But 15 years ago Santorini was a real heaven. There very few tourists. The island itself was more beautiful and much more authentic. The people were really happy to welcome us on their island. And you could see that Greece was not part of Europe and had its own way of life. It was a very authentic place with a small local econony.
The beaches are also the same. Only a few parts of them were developped. I really love this black beaches. It is something unique.
Favorite thing about Santorini: The village of Oia is the most beautiful village on earth. I love having walks there. Many things to discover. I also loved the ship trip arround the caldera. It offers the views of your life.
Negative opinion: There is nothing negative about the island, except of course that it gets more and more touristy.
I loved Santorini but I don't think I will go again. Already went there 3 times!
