Incredible island but no vegetation and $$$

The trip: I arrived by plane to Mykonos, stayed there for a week and then took the ferry to Santorini Island.
Reasons for going to Santorini: Heard from friends, recommended route from Lonely planet and on our way to Turkey.
Idea before arriving: Had seen some pictures on the internet and really looked amazing. Was impatient to see all this beauties by myself. Wanted also to see the black beaches and the many museums/sites of the island. Learn much about Greece at school and wanted to see archaeological sites.
Expectations and opinions: Yes, I really enjoyed my stay on Santorini Island but was disapointed by the lack of vegetation. There is nothing except from few trees. It is a huge roch in the middle of the see. The villages are really beautiful and gave us the feeling of walking in an ancient civilization. The views form the villages are really amazing and offer great sunsets. We really enjoyed to have this incredible landscape in front of us all day.
Favorite thing about Santorini: Everything and beeing able to relax and not rush to anything we "had" to see. But we saw and learned much!
Negative opinion: Nothing really negative except from the vegetation and prices. Accommodation and food is expensive and you need a great budget for good accommodation and good food.
Recommendations: Just go there. Even if expensive it worth the value for money. Just stay 2-3 days there and then go to an other island.
No, I won't go to Santorini again as I have a lot to see of this world. Maybe in some decenies.
