Great walks in the villages

The trip: I arrived on Santorini by ferry (catamaran), the trip was ok. Although the four hour ferry ride, they could have shown a movie. The sea was beautiful but it was a little boring.
Reasons for going to Santorini : Recommended by friends and had a friend who was barman there. Wanted to see the island and my friend and then go to Mykonos to party.
Idea before arriving: Small island with incredible landscapes and views. Expensive and average ages over 40 years old.
Expectations and opinions: It was cheapier than I thought. (maybe because of the time of year) and, indeed, the views were incredible. I just stay there for 3 days and was living in my friend's room. Nothing very luxurious compared to what can be seen there. There are some incredible hotels and wish to have the budget to go there one day. I have rented a scooter and visited the islamd. I was really impressed by the villages of Oia and Fira. Again there are many things to do if you have the budget. Great restaurants. I also visited all the beaches and those of the east coast. It is nothing terrible. The best beach must be near Perissa. But the sand is heavy anf black. A friend of mine who is collecting sand from different places of the world was happier than me.
Favorite thing about Mykonos : The evening walks in the villages and the views. The views are really extraordinary and they are free!
Negative opinion: Nothing negative. Maybe just the local people have a strange manner to drive and was really afraid some times, especially one night that I was coming back from Oia.
Recommendations: Just go there for the beauty. Do no excpect for usual beaches. Some people like it and some people don't. I say there are ok for a swim and refreshment.
