Gorgeous Island

The trip: I got to Santorini Island by plane (Olympic Airways) and then by normal ferry (Hellenic Seaways). We took the plane from Istanbul to Athens (2 hours) and then from Athens to Santorini by boat (10 hours).
The trip was good without any delay but the ferry trip was a little uncomfortable as it was a night trip and the did not turn off the lights.
Reasons for going to Santorini: The island was recommended by friends. My sister and a friend told me that Santorini was their favourite island, that it was of the most beautiful of the Greek islands and the most gorgeous.
Idea before arriving: Pretty blue sea, white sandy beaches, lots of bars and friendly people, sunny, etc...
Expectations and opinions: Yes, it exceeded my expectations.
- Island/area: 9/10 Beautiful views, cute farm fields and donkeys.
- Landscapes: 10/10 Georgeous!
- Tree Covered: 3/10 Just got off a rocky volcano. Santorini has some bushes.
- Beaches & waters: 10/10 Variety of beaches, not too crowded, clean, pretty waters
- Cleanliness: 7/10 Some garbages
- Villages: 10/10 Main Town: 8/10 Loved the buildings.
- Food/ restaurants: 9/10 Yummy, Ate some funky gyros though mystery meat??
- Nightlife: 8/10 Good bars with good drinks but no other customers (late may)
- Local people: 9/10 Didn't meet many but the ones I did were nice
- Accommodation: 10/10 Stelios place is great and inexpensive: pool and 50 meters from the sea.
- Activities 10/10 Excursions 8/10 Sightseeing: 10/10 Gorgeous!
- Prices: 7/10 Quality for price varies a lot
- Public Transportations: -/10 Never Used
- Authenticity 8/10 It has a lot of touristy shops
- Peace & quiet 9/10 Tranquil
- Weather 10/10 Perfect sunny and hot, just what I wanted.
Favorite thing about Santorini: The views are so amazing and it is small enough that you can see diferent things each day but explore the whole island easily.
My favorite beach is the Red beach. It is absolutely gorgeous. My favorite village is Oia. It is gorgeous and quaint.
We enjoyed much renting quads to drive around the island and stare at the views.
My best bar is Dorian's (Good happy hour) and the Beach bar.
My best restaurant is a place near Stelios place. I think the name is "Artistico" But I have amazing banana hazelnut waffles.
Negative opinion: There should be better street/directions signs. I got lost driving around.
Recommendations: Rent a quad and buggy and go exploring on your own. See Oia! It is beautiful.
I will definitely go back to Santorini. I would come again in May before it is crammed with herds of tourists. It is gorgeous and tranquil. A nice place for families and couples. It is a great honeymoon destination.
