Expensive but great life style.

The trip: I arrived on the island by boat. The boat was a normal ferry which called Express Santorini. The trip was good though there was a delay with the boat.
Reasons for going to Santorini: Recommended by friends.
More: Visited on holiday last year and wanted to come back to work – to spend more time here!
Idea about Santorini before arriving: Black volcanic beaches, cheap accommodation, great weather, crazy nightlife but not as much of a party island as Ios.

- Landscapes : 10/10
- Tree Covered : 2/10
- Beaches and Waters : 9/10 Very unusual black pebbles but no rubbish bins!
- Cleanliness : 10/10 Extremely clean for a tourist resort, well done!
- Villages : 10/10
- Main Town : 10/10 Once again, lack of bins but beautiful
- Food/Restaurants : 8/10 Lots of choice and great food but the rise in prices in August late July means we don’t eat out much
- Nightlife : 8/10 Very good! Very expensive drinks though
- Local People : 9/10 Very nice when they know that you are working here/not a tourist!
- Accommodations : 8/10 Hard to find a studio/apartment but can be sure it is clean and nice
- Prices : 8/10 Basics (bread, water and alcohol) very cheap but drinks in bars and restaurants very expensive
- Public Transportations : 9/10 Very good but expensive to go from Kamari to Perissa
- Authenticity : 10/10 Very good for a tourist resort-no McDonalds!
- Peace and quiet : 10/10 If you want it you can find it easily!
- Weather : 11/10 Fantastic!
More: Hospital was a disaster! Had three trips to it unfortunately with 3 members of the group and seemed unhygienic. Also had to call the ambulance but they were efficient and quick to arrive.
Favorite things about the island: The lifestyle! A combinations of beaches during the day and a great nightlife (and the bakery!) at night
Best beaches: Kamari and Perissa
Best villages: Fira, Kamari
Best Activity: Quad biking around the island
Best Bar/Pub/Club: Murphy’s! Tropical beach bar, Tithora
Anything negative about the island or needs improvement: Rubbish bins! None on the Caldera maybe have an accommodation bureau for workers on the island need to start accepting credits cards.
Recommendations: Get a room with A/C, Greeks can shout but not be angry, hire a quad, don’t flush toilet paper, don’t get sick!
Rate of the overall quality/organization/services of this island/area in comparison with other countries: 9/10. Losing a mark for the hospital service but overall, fantastic!
