I have connected Santorini with the best trip of my life, my honeymoon! We got married in a legal wedding here in the UK and then we went to Santorini for the honeymoon. From the time the ferry approached the port, I was amazed by the view, the small white houses on top of the caldera.

Our hotel was in Imerovigli and the honeymoon suite had the most gorgeous view. To see the sun rising from the sea every morning was the best way to start the day. Imerovigli is a few minutes walk from the capital Fira, so it is a nice location for tourists, certainly less busy than Fira and more calm.

Oia has indeed the best sunsets in the world. I took several photos of the sunset and made one of them a beautiful picture for my wall. Whenever I see it back here, I am dreaming of Santorini.

The beaches are not the best in Greece, but let's face it, you don't go to Santorini for the beaches. The island has so many other beauties to offer that the beaches are the last thing you care.

A tour to the volcano is a great idea. How many times in your life will you have the opportunity to walk on top of an active volcano? Boats leave every ten minutes from the old port of Fira and get you to the small island where the volcano is located.

I was sad that Akrotiri was closed. I wish next time works will have finished. We are thinking about renewing our vows in Santorini in ten or twenty years if everything goes well. It will be a great experience, won't it?
