National Geographic about Santorini Volcano

National Geographic presents the Volcano of Santorini Greece, Cyclades: Santorini is one of the most studied volcanoes in the world and became true inspiration for many volcanologists. All over the planet, the volcanoes are among the most catastrophic powers on this earth and volcanic eruptions have many times destroyed developed civilizations.

Among the many active volcanoes around the world, Santorini volcano has achieved worldwide fame urging scientists to search deep into the myth of this ancient volcano.

In fact, the documentary entitled Doomsday Volcano is dedicated to the volcano pf Santorini, one of the largest and most mysterious volcanoes in human history, and throws light to the huge explosion that occurred 3,500 years ago. The documentary was produced by the National Geographic and was shown in 2008.
